    True Christmas Story :)

    True Christmas Story:

We went to Jenn's Grannie's for Christmas today. There were about 30 people, Maddie & Dexter, and a cat that was in the bedroom. All the sudden we hear some barking, people screaming, and see these three animals streaking in and out of each room of the house......the cat got out and Maddie & Dexter were chasing it all over the place.

Well, the cat jumped on the dining room table, hissed like a mad cat, then tried to jump out the closed window that had the blinds lowered. Needless to say, the cat slammed into the wall, bounced backward about 3 feet, landed on some plants, then started running again.

Eventually the cat hid in the bedroom as we grabbed the dogs.......but it sure made for an interesting 60 seconds!

    Christmas memories :)

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

    Jenn's Nike Women's Half Marathon

    Jenn's Half Marathon!
We had a very exciting weekend in San Francisco! After 12 weeks of training, Jenn completed the Nike Women's Half Marathon......with 60% being up hill and finishing in the rain! It was so cool to watch her finish and accomplish her goal.
Each of the runners names were listed on a HUGE wall outside the Nike store in Union Square. Jenn needed some warmer clothes, so we took the family into downtown to shop at the Nike store - apparently, 15,000 of our closest friends decided to do the same thing:) It was packed!!!
The race started at 7am, so Jenn was up around 5:45am getting ready, stretching out, and munching on some quick carbs before she headed down to union square.
Around 6:20am we grabbed the pups and headed over to Union Square to meet up with the 20,000 other runners. Maddie and Dexter were not too happy about being up so early, but I explained how important it was to Jenn, and they quickly changed their tune;)
Once we got to Union Square, we realized that I would not be able to watch Jenn start. There must have been 60,000 people down there. The picture below shows 1 block, but there were 4 blocks just like this......absolutely packed!
So, we grabbed a quick picture, then Jenn ventured off to find her starting point. It was amazing how many people were crammed in that small area.
I dropped the pups off at the apartment, then walked over to the garage where we keep our car. Interestingly, the garage does not open until 9am on Sundays....oops. So I had to scramble to find a zipcar location nearby, then had to find the zipcar card, then finally, was on my way to meet Jenn at the finish line!

We did our best to push our way to the front so Jenn could see us when she ran by to the finish line....

Here she is taking her last few steps. She finished really strong - I am so proud of her!
We found Jenn about 5 minutes after she finished the race. We looked through a sea of people, then out popped Jenn!

She looks good for just running 13.1 miles!
It was a big day in San Francisco because this was Jenn's first Half Marathon! She finished under her goal, and still walked around after to talk about it. Such a great experience and the best part is we were surround by our friends.
Jenn's bib number was 740, so you can search for more pictures at http://www.nikewomensmarathonphotos.com/ . Just put her bib number in the "search" field and you will see additional pictures and some video as she crosses the finish line!

    It's been way too long......

Everything in San Francisco is going well! We are loving the city, the people, our apartment, and our new favorite Italian restaurant - La Briciola. Maddie and Dexter are still running the apartment. They pretty much own the place........I just pay the rent:)

I have a ton of new pictures to post - so stay tuned in the next couple days for a nice long blog post.

    Have a great weekend!

    Finally Moved In - July 5, 2009

Finally Moved In! (From Jenn's Blog)

Marc and I have spent *MANY HOURS* getting our apartment together over the past month and this weekend, I'm happy to say, we're finally FINISHED!....well, sorda... If you know me and the way that I decorate, it'll always be a 'work in progress' but we're both happy with the outcome as of now. Take a look at where we started and how far we've come - it's slowly starting to feel like our home.

We've been out and about in the neighborhood as well, meeting lots of fun people - love to walk Maddie and Dexter down by AT&T Park and even went on a long walk last week to the Ferry building. The pups seem to be adjusting well and are loving their new-found freedom at the dog park behind our new place...they're making lots of new friends but of course miss their crew from the NYC Tate. ;)
