The iPhone Review
After about 30 days with the iPhone, I have to admit, I think I like it.....however, I am not sure I would like it if my work email was connected. Other than that, it is pretty cool (for lack of a better word). It takes good pictures, plays my music, plays my videos, receives emails, has a good web browser, and has GREAT games! As dorky as it sounds, I think the games are the clincher for me!
Email: If you need an EMAIL device, something that receives email in real time, and allows you to sort old emails, then the Blackberry is a better device. If you are looking for something to comb through your personal email, view emails in HTML, and just somthing to goof off...then the iphone will work fine. There is not sort function on the iPhone, so if you need an email from a specific person, or an email from a specific time, you will need to scroll through all your emails....bummer!
Internet: The internet is awesome! The AT&T network tends to bog down in bigger metros, but when the phone is pulling the 3G signal, the internet is awesome. The browser is a full HTML browser which means it looks like the browser on your computer. I like the internet features on the iphone better than the Blackberry. The pages pull up faster and more complete. Not to mention you can use a Wi-Fi connection when available. Once you are connected to Wi-Fi, it's like having a computer in your hands. I think the iPhone has the edge over the Blackberry when it comes to the internet functions and speed.
Phone: The phone works great. The voices seem to been clear on both ends and I have not dropped too many calls. The speakerphone is a little weak, but other than that, the phone is great. The Blackberry phone is great too - so either device will work just fine for phone calls.
Games: There are a ton of games to choose from at the "App" store. I have two favorite games....."Remove'm" and "Mental Maths" - however there are hundreds to choose from that are free and to buy. Blackberry has games too, however I feel that the games on the iPhone are a little more interactive and have more bells & whistles.
So, to summarize my first month with the iPhone.....I like it! Just remember, I am using it as a personal device. As soon as I need a business device, I will most likely switch back to the Blackberry because the email functions are a little better.
